Mandatory Mask Policy Update

As you are all aware, we are unfortunately seeing a significant surge in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in our province and in our city. At Fitset Ninja, we have been operating with strict COVID safety protocols since the summer, and thankfully have not yet had any cases associated with visits to our facility.

An element of our COVID safety plan that has been particularly challenging has been enforcing the social distancing protocols we have in place during our classes. Despite vigorous efforts by our coaches and support staff, we find that many athletes are still not adhering to the distancing protocols in place. In order to continue trying to provide a safe environment for all, and given the significant rise of positive COVID cases in Edmonton, we will be introducing the next phase of our COVID safety plan and mandating that masks be worn at all times in our facility. This is in contrast to our previous policy where masks were highly encouraged, but only optional while on the course. Masks will now be mandatory on the course beginning Thursday November 12th.

Over the past several months, we have seen that the majority of our althletes are already wearing masks during classes. This has not resulted in any decrease in athlete performance or ability to breathe safely during training. Should you/your child find that wearing a mask does interfer with comfortable breathing at any time during the class, our coaches will be very understanding if you need to take a quick water break.

We anticipate futher mandates from the Government of Alberta regarding mask usage coming soon, and so are simply taking a proactive step to introduce this policy ahead of time in order to keep our customers and staff safe.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
